Benjamin Tarasewicz: singer, actor, comedian, narrator, multi-instrumental musician, public speaker, emcee, (was diagnosed w/ autism at age 2)
A signature element of Benjamin's musical performances and autism presentations are the accompanying slide-shows of evocative photos and art-work, which heighten the emotional impact of both music and spoken word, providing a sensory-rich experience.
Benjamin spearheaded the Boulder Public Library's series of sensory-friendly concerts in 2016. He has performed with members of the Denver Symphony, Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra, and with freelance musicians.
Sensory-friendly definition: inclusive and inviting atmosphere, allowing all differently-abled audience members the freedom to be themselves (to vocalize, to move physically, to leave the space if over-stimulated, etc.) Concerts are around 45 minutes long, no intermission, soft lighting, in a comfortably spacious setting. Often, there are opportunities to interact with the performers and with various musical instruments.
Benjamin is an exceptional role model; his story of overcoming adversity is inspiring to listeners of all ages:
We offer versions of differing lengths:

- performance elements can include singing w/ ukulele, spoonerism comedy routines,

Benjamin has been with Tapestry since its inception in 2012, performing in one production per year. Tapestry Theater Company is an all-abilities group that embraces the diversity of area actors, offering all an opportunity to shine as performers. Tapestry casts actors with special needs in lead roles, and peer actors as understudies to create a shared theatrical performance. Actors enjoy the magic of theater in a fun, welcoming, safe, and inclusive community.
Benjamin joined this group after five years of intensive participation in his high-school's many excellent choirs. Cantabile Singers is a Boulder-based auditioned choral ensemble dedicated to presenting high-quality performances of a wide range of music. Cantabile's mission is to connect humanity through choral music, and they perform 3 programs each season.
Benjamin has been performing since childhood, and has been advocating, plus creating new and special events since 2012. He has become somewhat of a local celebrity, spearheading many inclusion events and awakening the community to wonderful collaborations (over 85 events between 2012 - 2022). Benjamin has been invited to advocate/perform both nationally and internationally. He and his mom (Malva) have been a successful team throughout.
